A little bit of politic?

Let's talk about... Not sex like The Salt N Pepper did but politic, less exciting right but still interesting. 

What's going on in politics in 80's 

When we say 80 we are talking about years from january 1st 1980 until december 1989, just to be clear. We are not going to make huges chapter about politics because its not the goal of this blog so we will do it short! As politic is a subject that influences a lot of artist in music, film, fashion, pictures, that's the reason why it's also nice to talk about it. 

Let's start with the USA.

So in 80 USA has a new president, RONALD REAGAN (February 6, 1911- June 5, 2004)

   

Who is this man??? How come you ask this question Ronald Reagan was the 33rd Governor of California from 1967 to 1975 and the 40th president of United States from 1981 to 1989!!!

Ok then let's say few things about him...

Before that Mister Reagan work at the radio and was an actor! Yes you read the word Actor. 

He was born in Tampico, Illinois and raised in Dixon, he is the second son of Johan Edward Reagan, an American who come from Irish and Nelle Wison Reagan who has got British ans Scotish ancesters, well!

He was educated at Eureuka College, earning a Bachelor of Art degree in economics and sociology. Upon graduation, he became a radio sport announcer, they love sport in USA isn't it?

Thanks to a screen test in 1937, Ronald Reagan (cause we are still talking about him) won a contract in Hollywood. During the next two decades he appeared in 53 films. 53 movies!!!! Can you imagine your current president in 53 movies????? Ahahahah!

Reagan start in politic occured during his work for GE (General Electric).

  

In 1942 he goes to the army but he will be quickly moved from the battlefront because of his vision problems that force him to wear glasses. While the next 4 years he will be sent in the US Air Force cinema department that produce propaganda military movies.

You have to know that youngest Reagan was a member of the democrate party just like his father. But army changed his political views then he start to be more conservative and Repblican. 

In 1954 he is hire to host the GE Theater, a Tv drama series, thanks to that job he will propagade his conservative idea and get some contacts but the GE will not appreciate his radical conservative and in 1962 they will stopped his contract, time when he  switched officially to the Republican party. 

After leaving the GE some Republican members will invite Reagan to be candidate for the position of the Governor of California. He has no experience in politic but nice and funny his personality captive the electors. That is what we call The American Dream Isn't it?

November 8, 1966 Ronald Reagan is the governor of California. In November 3, 1970 he is once again elected has Governor until 1975. That's what we call The American Dream ISN'T IT?

November 4, 1980 Ronald Reagan, ex actor with no experience in politic, become the 40th president of America... That's what we call THE AMERICAN DREAM isn't it?
